Missouri State University's Mock Trial team won the championship at the 2025 Mid-Missouri Mock Trial Invitational, which took place Jan. 25-26 in Columbia, Missouri.

Missouri State University Opera Theatre qualified for the 2025 Robert Hanson National Collegiate Opera Scenes Competition in January. The National Opera Association hosted the event at its national conference in Savannah, Georgia. The Missouri State group comprised three sophomore standouts who are part of the "Opera Bears" club: Jb Love, Ryan McIntosh and Veronika Yerina.

Missouri State University senior Austin Brown has begun the project of a lifetime - engaging in the Plant the Moon Challenge. With the help of his team members and MSU faculty, he is conducting an experiment that will help NASA scientists gain more knowledge about growing crops on the moon.

The Association for Business Information Technology Students (A-BITS) team from Missouri State University attended the U.S. Information Technology Collegiate Conference (USITCC) from March 30-April 1, 2023 in Plano, Texas. There, team members participated in several competitions, where they won awards.

The 2023 CFA Research Challenge Team from Missouri State University recently placed second in the CFA Society of Kansas City regional competition.

In October, Missouri State University's Department of Information Technology and Cybersecurity (ITC) hosted the regional U.S. Information Technology Collegiate Conference (USITCC) on campus. Students and faculty worked together to plan the conference, including competition events. Seventy-six students from seven universities across three states were represented at the conference.

A group of students in Missouri State University's Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) chapter recently attended the 2022 National Leadership Conference in Chicago, Illinois. The group earned 11 top 10 titles in the collegiate business competition.

Missouri State University technology and construction management (TCM) students recently competed in the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) National Student Chapter competition in San Diego, California. The team finished second and TCM instructor Jacob Nelson was named the MCAA's educator of the year.

A team of Missouri State University MBA students placed first in the National MBA Case Competition in Ethical Leadership at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

Missouri State University's Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) Research Challenge Team won the recent 2021-2022 CFA Institute Research Challenge - Kansas City. The team advances to compete in the Americas SubRegionals later this month.

The Missouri State University Ad Team took second place - and $3,000 - in the recent Invent2Prevent 2021 spring virtual competition.

Missouri State University's CFA Research Challenge Team placed first in the regional competition. It also finished in the top 20 of more than 600 universities at the national level for the CFA Institute Research Challenge.

Missouri State University senior Jolean Hackney finished first in the 2020 PAVE (Planning and Visual Education Partnership) Student Design Competition in collaboration with SketchUp, a 3D modeling computer program used for a wide range of drawing applications. This annual competition is geared toward college-level students involved in retail planning, visual merchandising and branding programs.

Natalie Rector, an animal science and agricultural business major at Missouri State University, emerged as the 2021 Novice Collegiate All-Around Champion at the recent American Stock Horse Association National Show (ASHA) in Sweetwater, Texas. This is the highest award a novice collegiate rider can receive.
